2004, Jack McConnell, The First Minister of Scotland, visited China on an education and trade mission designed to strengthen Scotland’s links with the Beijing administration. As part of that visit Scottish Bagpiper’s Stuart Cassells provided the music and colour to represent Scottish musical tradition. This was Stuart’s second visit to China, the first being in 2000 as Pipe Major with The Royal Burgh of Stirling Pipe Band. An undoubted highlight was the band marching along the Great Wall of China. |
